A journey into the heart of Buddhist Thailand
Rest, reconnect, immerse yourself in Thai Buddhist culture
Join BIJA Yoga Director/BIJA Teacher-training Creator and Lead Teacher/Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher, Keith Kempis on an unforgettable cultural experience and yoga holiday in Khao Lak Thailand.
“Khao Lak is very close to my heart: my family have been coming here to rest, connect (with ourselves, each other and our extended Thai family), immerse ourselves in Thai Buddhist culture, Thai cuisine and beach life, for the last two decades. This is the FIFTH time I’ve hosted this special retreat -and I’m very much looking forward to sharing this adventure again with like-minded people.”
~Keith

Includes
- 7 nights accommodation at Khao Lak Orchid Beach Resort (Keith and his family only ever stay here in Khao Lak and have done so for the past 20 years), Welcome Dinner by the beach and Farewell Dinner celebration.
- Return shuttle bus from Phuket Airport
- Twice-daily yoga classes from 12-17 October (morning vinyasa and evening yin or restorative yoga)
- Phuket Vegetarian Festival (vegan street fairs and temple visits in Khao Lak and Old Phuket). Phuket Veg Fest is one of the most incredible experiences you will ever have…It’s quite difficult to describe!
- Temple visits. As Madame – the owner of Khao Lak Orchid – is a devout Buddhist, we have the opportunity to visit various temples and also Ajan Chid’s forest monastery (Ajan Chid was Keith’s Mum’s teacher).
- Visit to Hands Across the Water/Baan Than Naam Chai children’s home. Keith’s family have been connected with this orphanage since its creation directly after the Boxing Day Tsunami. It’s actually one of the happiest places he’s ever been… and he’s proud to say he’s seen many of these children grow up; some have returned to work here. Tour guide, Tony Sittiporn, Keith’s mother’s Thai son. Tony actually co-designed the Orchid but now currently lives in North Thailand. He is returning to Khao Lak just for us.
- Many other (included) surprises
“I enjoyed absolutely everything about this holiday but the VERY best part was Tony.”
~Amy (two-time participant of Thai Yoga Holiday with Keith)
NB #2 As this is a yoga holiday rather than a retreat or a pilgrimage, you will have time to enjoy the beach and water activities, bars and restaurants in Khao Lak Centre (including a growing number of vegan and vegan-friendly eateries). This will be the tail end of the rainy season so there will be some rainy moments. Massages and other treatments are just a few steps from The Orchid and can also be arranged.
