Carmen Ceniza is the founder and Director of Lila Yoga. Coming from a stressful professional career, she started practicing for the physical and mental benefits. As she became more involved in her practice, her fascination and love for learning led her to a wonderful life journey as a Yogini.
Carmen started attending spiritual retreats at the Brahma Kumaris spiritual centre Leura and Satyananda Yoga in Mangrove Mountain seeking understanding and knowledge of yogic scriptures and philosophies.
In 2006 Carmen took the life changing and challenging decision to become a Yoga teacher and studied at Samadhi Yoga, Newtown under the tutelage of Advanced Certified Jivamukti Teacher and Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Katie Manitsas. Carmen also travelled to India to attain her Kundalini teacher qualification under the guidance of Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa.
Her vision for a Yoga community came to fruition in 2008 when Lila Yoga studio opened as the first purposely built Yoga studio in Penrith. Her dream was to have a space where everybody feels welcome and are among friends in a relaxed environment.
After many years of running a successful yoga studio, Carmen has pivoted her focus and has evolved Lila Yoga into cyber space where she feels she can share her love for yoga to a larger community. She has created accessible online classes, private meditation / breath work sessions and also honouring the value of human touch by making personal connections, through regular workshops, retreats and events at different locations around Australia and internationally.
‘I am thankful and grateful to my teachers, husband, daughter, family and the community for supporting my creative expression of my truth, without your support I would still be dreaming. Peace and Namaste’- Carmen Ceniza
