Essential Teachings of the Bhagavad Gita with SEEMA JOHARI assisted by KEITH KEMPIS

Friday, 16 November 2018 from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at BIJA Yoga, Penrith

‘It is better to perform one’s prescribed duties imperfectly rather than performing another’s duties imperfectly’ – BG, CH 3, V35

There are a number of ancient texts absolutely crucial to the development of the modern day yogi; the one who is interested in more than just asana (physical postures). Out of all these texts, The Bhagavad Gita – which can be translated to ‘Beautiful Song’ or ‘Highest Song’ – is perhaps the most poetic.

It tells the story of a reluctant warrior – Arjuna – forced to fight a battle against his own family, with limited resources and even less confidence. At his lowest, Arjuna calls upon Krishna, the ultimate war strategist. Unbeknownst to Arjuna, Krishna is so much more than he originally appears …

Arjuna represents us; the yogi who struggles with their duty, and the battles we must overcome every day to honour our incarnation and fulfil our destiny.

Learn the essence of the Gita through storytelling, discussion and correct chanting of key slokah (verses).

This workshop is designed for yogis who want to enrich their practice far beyond the physical, yoga teachers desiring a deeper understanding of the teachings of yoga, as well as anyone experiencing a transitional period in life.

It is taught by Seema Johari, the daughter of Master Harish Johari, considered one of the world’s foremost teachers of sacred Hindu texts, Ayurveda, the Chakra system, the Planets, Gemology, Numerology and Yantra painting. Seema teaches internationally and at the Johari family compound in India in honour of her father.
